The major highways servicing Palatine include US Routes 12 (Rand Road) and 14 (Northwest Highway), Interstate 290/Illinois Route 53, Interstate 90 (2 miles south), and Interstate 294 (8 miles east).

The Metra's Northwest Union Pacific line provides service from downtown Palatine to Chicago. The train station is located at 137 W. Wood St. PACE Bus Route 699 goes from Palatine to Woodfield to Elk Grove Village and PACE Bus Route 723 serves Northeast Palatine to Arlington Park. These routes operate Monday-Friday, no holidays.
